This is not the first time I am having problems with Net4India. I had renewed this domain with them in August 2008 for the next five years. However, they sent me a reminder two weeks ago telling me that my domain name would expire on 22nd August 09 and I’d have to pay up. I created a trouble ticket on their website asking them what the problem was. They replied back saying it was a “technical hitch” and that I wouldn’t have to be worried. In fact, someone called me and informed that the domain would be renewed automatically. I left the matter there.
To my utter surprise today, I found whatever they promised did not really happen. I stopped receiving emails on my kbharath.com account ! My domain had indeed expired. Net4india let my domain expire despite having collected the money from me in advance for the next five years. There started my problem – I called their helpdesk , the bloke on the line had no clue of what I was trying to explain. He tried giving me FAQ type monotonous responses for 15 minutes after which he gave up and said he had emailed the concerned department and that they would get back. I was infuriated and had no choice but to wait. In the meantime I wrote a couple of emails to whatever Net4.in email ids that I could find. I realised that mine is not the only such case after I browsed through a couple of reviews on mouthshut.com and similar sites.
I continue my struggle to salvage my domain name…
